Knick-Knack Shelves Project
I was looking for a solution to some clutter issues a while back, which led to some different shelving projects. I did one set of shelves really quickly, a few hours of planning, a few hours of building, a few hours to apply the finish. Planning was started on 11578.736, and the installation was finished on 11582.617. I made a page for that project.

New mike date conversion calculator!
Also known as the kakalator, this is what you use to convert mike dates to boring dates, and boring dates to mike dates. I spent a lot of time making the kakalator "look right". You'll see what I mean if you visit the page...

Solstice Carol

Deck the halls with whatever you have
Straight from our home to yours this holiday season, our version of "Deck The Halls". There's nothing like a good old-fashioned solstice carol reminiscing about the enduring traditions of the pagan yule! Yay pagans! We did this as our part of NPR's All Things Considered caroling party. The idea is that everyone would do their own version of the song in a certain key and tempo, send it in, and then they would mix it all together and play it on the radio. Sounds like a good idea to me.

Exploring Extra Features of Casio CZ-1
I recently wasted A LOT of time exploring some of the hidden features of a Casio CZ-1 synthesizer. Buttons on the front panel of the CZ-1 let you control many of its features. However, there are many additional features that are only available if you use a computer to control the synthesizer. I did a very methodical study of just 16 bits (out of 4700+) in a given sysex message. Here is a complete multi-page report of what I discovered.

Aluminum Threshold Chair Repair
I repaired a crippled chair that was being thrown out. A better description and some photos of the project can be found here. The repair involved an aluminum threshold, and some sparkly blue vinyl.

Multi-Game Table
I designed and built a café style table, and painted a grid design on the top that would permit the play of many different grid-based board games. A full description and photos can be found on this page. We haven't been able to play many games on it recently because I started using it as my workbench, which is against the rules (my own rules). NEED MORE HORIZONTAL SURFACES.
